Summer is here, and you know what that means: heat!
And lots of it.
Even if you’re the biggest fan of Vitamin D, if you’re expecting a little one, there’s no denying that carrying extra weight through the hot summer months can have you sweaty, uncomfortable, and not at your best.
Lucky for you, we’ve got all the tips to help keep you from spending your entire summer indoors, cranking the air conditioner.
Let’s keep you cool with cute maternity swimwear and these summer pregnancy tips:
1) Let the water take your weight
The easiest (and most fun!) way to cool down in the summer? Taking a dip in the ocean, of course.
Not only will swimming lower your overall temperature, the weight of the water helps support your sore muscles and aching back for a soothing and relaxing way to ease that pesky internal furnace.
Plus hey, we almost guarantee you’ll leave the water feeling refresh and energized, which is never a bad thing when you’re carrying around your little one.

2) Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate
If we could offer one piece of advice to expecting mamas who are carrying during the summer, it would be this: hydrate.
While you might not need another excuse to visit the bathroom at this stage of your pregnancy, hydration will not only cool you down and make you feel better in the heat, it’s also important for the health of both you and your baby.
Aim to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day. This can, of course, fluctuate depending on your individual needs, but in general, drinking as much water as possible is never a bad idea when you’re pregnant.
If you’re struggling with drinking more water, get yourself a reusable bottle that you can keep with you throughout the day, and you’ll likely find that regular hydration is a piece of cake.
3) Stock up on frozen snacks
If you’ve yet to discover the brilliance of having frozen fruit on hand when you’re pregnant, you’ll thank us later for this tip.
Nutritious, easy for grab-and-go snacking, and perfectly cooling, we highly recommend frozen grapes, berries, and mangoes all make their way into the freezers of pregnant ladies.
4) Scoop up some maternity dresses
While it would certainly be nice to sit in a maternity swimsuit all day, while sipping on water, and snaking on frozen fruit, this isn’t exactly the most realistic way to spend your summer.
The solution?
Make sure you have a good selection of summer maternity dresses that you feel comfortable and confident in.
Here at Maive & Bo. we have a wide selection of maternity dresses that are light, airy, and just as stylish as any non-maternity dress. In particular, for hot weather, we highly recommend checking out our best-selling maternity wrap dresses.
In addition, no matter where you do your maternity shopping, keep your eyes open for pieces made from cotton and bamboo. These fabrics will help keep your internal body temperature down.
